The often used words uttered by driving instructors when talking about speed limits is that they are legal maximums not targets.
But take a look at the picture below…..what do you think the speed limit is here? 30mph, 40mph, 50mph or more?
It’s actually 30mph, and you can tell that because there are street lights. If there are street lights it will always be 30 unless signs say otherwise.
So, the simple rule is:
If there are street lights it’s 30mph
No streetlights or speed signs, it’s the national speed limit, which is different depending on the vehicle you are driving…… and all other speed limits will have regular repeater signs.
