Phew!! At last, the DVSA have given Driver Trainers the green light to resume training from 4th July.
Theory tests will restart on 4th July and practical car testing in England from 22 July.
DVSA Chief Executive Gareth Llewellyn said:
“It has been vital that lessons and tests only resume when safe to do so and in line with the government’s advice. I am pleased to announce the restart of lessons and theory tests in England from 4 July and car practical tests will restart from 22 July.”
We welcome the opportunity to return to some sort of normal business but, once we have completed our own risk assessment, we will need to adopt a phased restart to lessons, focussed on:
* Candidates who had driving tests cancelled by the DVSA since lockdown
* Drivers already working with us
* Those on our waiting list
* New enquirers
Safety measures will need to be put in place in order to protect drivers and trainers from COVID-19. Information on how to comply with these measures will be published and forwarded to all in due course.
