*** Congratulations Lily Stone ***

A super test pass, in her own car,  for Lily yesterday. Lily loves driving her Smart car and decided that was the car to use on test in West Wickham. Her decision was well founded as she was only given one driving fault!! Well done Lily….. stay safe xx

*** Congratulations Connor Franklin ***

A wonderful smile from Connor, following his test pass at Sevenoaks in his own car! I’m immensely proud of him!! Connor passed both his theory and practical tests despite his learning difficulties and because he wanted this badly, worked hard and kept focussing on his goals. The private practice and experience of using his car to drive the family around in the last few months has paid dividends. Congratulations Connor ( and thankyou Pauline)….. my goodness you deserve this success. Have fun xx

*** Massive, massive MASSIVE congratulations to Bliss ***

After applying herself to learning all that was necessary, Bliss Jackson passed her theory test today after 3 YEARS of trying!! Im sooooooo proud of her; she’s kept going when so many would have given up. The look on her face as she came out of the test centre and RAN at me was a picture I’ll remember for ever, I reckon. A huge well done, Bliss. You’re a star!

*** “Who’d have guessed it, Francesca Lovegrove? ***

Francesca started lessons about 5 months ago…… in pieces!! Just sitting in the drivers’ seat was a massive deal!! We started with her just steering along a quiet. straight road, with me controlling everything else…….. and eventually, she smiled!!!

Today, despite lots of tears at the start of her test, she used the coping strategies that have become part of her driving…… and managed a first time test pass in Sevenoaks!

…… and I got a bottle of fizz!!

Thankyou xx

*** Testimonial – Kiera Rowlinson ***

Some lovely words from Kiera:

Hi Lin,
I Just wanted to thank you so much for helping me with my driving. I was so happy and shocked that I passed my driving test first time. Learning to drive was the hardest thing I have done, and after my last instructor I was on the verge of giving up but having lessons with you changed my perspective on driving and was one of the best things I have done. Driving these past few days has felt great, and long dog walks are planned! I couldn’t have done any of this without you, I will highly recommend you to anyone learning to drive! Thank you so much for all you help!

*** Congratulations Kiera Rowlinson ***

After having 3 tests cancelled/moved by the DVSA, Kiera finally got to Sevenoaks Driving Test Centre today and met her examiner!!! Success!! A first time test pass which is going to make a huge difference to her life! Kiera already has her own car, but getting to and from work and driving out of town for decent walks across the Ashdown Forest are planned!! You’ve worked really hard for this Kiera – really well done xx

*** Congratulations Dominique Lynn ***

After the disappointment of a couple of driving test fails a few years ago, where she admits to simply not being ready, Dom decided to give driving another go……. and did half a dozen lessons to get up to standard. She passed her test in Sevenoaks today with just 3 driving faults, meaning she can now drive her kids around in her little BMW. Well done for putting up with me Dominique – you’ve done it!! How amazing is that?? 🙂

*** Connor is a Superstar!***

Preparing for the Theory and Hazard Perception test was always going to be tricky for Connor Franklin, but boy did he work hard to achieve a brilliant pass this week. Connor felt that mornings were the best time to structure study, in order to keep focus and put an hour aside EVERY morning for this revision. He found that mindmaps and flashcards helped his understanding and we tried to find real life examples of the subject he struggled where possible. There was a big problem with the phrasing of the questions at the start, as Connor initially would take the wording very literally – I feel the DVSA could do a better job with this!!

Connor has been doing a lot of private practice with mum and his driving skills are improving each week, so it wont be too long before a practical test is passed giving him more job opportunities in the future as well as independence.

*** Congratulations Jason Gooden ***

A fabulous first time driving test pass with just 3 driving faults, for Jason Gooden at Reigate Test centre today. He used many of the strategies we’ve worked on in the past few weeks to overcome the high anxiety that overwhelms him on these type of occasions. His examiner today was the perfect match, noticing when he was beginning to get a bit wobbly; it was funny sitting in the back listening to their natterings about holidays, motorbikes, jobs and life!! Good luck in the future Jason…… trust in your decisions matey!

*** Congratulations Sam Outing ***

Well done Sam….. What a fabulous result eh?

Sam had put driving off for many years, convincing himself that he could work around the lack of transport while living in London. But he has been working incredibly hard for 6 months, managing to overcome high anxiety together with dyslexia and dyspraxia to pass in Sevenoaks today with just 3 driving faults!  How good is that???? Sam was under pressure today too, as he’s moving house to the Norfolk countryside next week AND getting married in a month too – no pressure!!!! I’m not sure I will stop smiling all weekend…… I’m going to miss him so much!

*** Testimonial – Kerry McSweeney ***

It was really lovely to receive this from Kerry today, and so fab to think of her driving her girlies around now:

” I never learnt to drive when I turned 17 and over the years I convinced myself I was a non-driver and found myself developing a real fear of undertaking any lessons.

In my forties and having become a mum, I realised that I needed to take a deep breath and finally take the plunge.

I found Lin after a google search of driving instructors for nervous drivers. I’d already decided I wanted to learn automatic in an attempt to make it a little easier and not have to worry about gears.

I was so nervous our first lesson, but Lin put me completely at ease. I was amazed when I drove along a quiet street – I never expected to be able to do that in lesson one! As our lessons progressed, so did my confidence. Lin never pushed me, or made me feel uneasy or nervous – she really allowed me to take things at my own pace which I really appreciated! Before I knew it, I started to actually look forward to driving.

I took my theory test using some practice software that Lin recommended and was delighted to pass.

We then decided it was time to book my actual test – and 5 months later I found myself sitting with an examiner beside me. 40 minutes later we were back at the test centre – I had a first time pass – I couldn’t believe it!

Lin was a fantastic teacher and I can’t recommend her highly enough. Thanks Lin!”
